it’s monday, may 17, & moon is in cancer, in the starspace called pushya. cancer vibrates with the frequency of unconditional love, creating an environment in which there is no judgment, no criticism, in which there are no expectations, just pure love, soul-to-soul connection. it is where we feel an all-pervading sense of peace b/c we feel at home in ourselves, absolute safety in being seen for who we are & absolute acceptance as a result. who loves you just as you are? whom do you love just as they are? really! how can you be more in the space of pure love, creating heart-to-heart connection without expecting anything in return, by just being with?
the symbol of the asterism pushya is a cow’s udders, which, like a mother’s breasts, are sources of nourishment, which create the conditions for others to thrive. pushya is ruled by the deity brihaspati, considered the best among priests, the one who nourishes us through spiritual/moral guidance & ultimately facilitates our connection to the divine. how do we connect to the divine, the divine in ourselves & others, but through love, through pure, unadulterated love—i.e., unconditional love! we are invited today to ponder what we are feeding ourselves & others & whether that is nurturing more or less love.
it’s the sixth lunar day, the sixth phase of the waxing moon, which is associated with kartikeya, shiva & parvati’s “other” son, ganesha’s bro. kartikeya was a victorious army general at a very young age, famously defeating the demon taraka. today we get to celebrate our own victories, especially those over our own demons, & isn’t fighting our own demons pretty much what we do on a daily basis? which demon did you conquer yesterday, or earlier today—self-doubt, self-criticism, comparing yourself to someone else?
monday is ruled by the moon, who is our feeling nature, our capacity to give, receive, express & process emotions. so it’s a good day to notice what we’re feeling & how much of our heart we are sharing, whether we are being stingy or generous with it. & b/c moon also rules cancer, it’s a double good opportunity to do so.
