it’s friday, may 17, & moon is still in harmony-loving-it-has-to-be-good-for-me-&-good-for-you libra,

but is now in the starspace called swati. “swati” means sword & this sword can be used positively or negatively to cut through obstacles on your path, so do be intentional, do make sure you are clearing a righteous path, for righteous purposes, not for purposes of self-aggrandizement, but in order to support what’s highest in yourself so you can serve others.

swati is ruled by the deity vayu, who likewise has both positive & negative potential. vayu is the wind & controls the intellect. wind can be both gentle & destructive, can be the sweet breeze of inspiration or a tornado of inappropriate ideas that takes you & everything around you down.

there is also a connection to wealth, to the idea of reciprocity—if your wealth is used for the greater good of all, you will get to keep it. like the coral in the ocean, which nourishes & is nourished by its habitat, it is good for you & good for me, a symbiotic relationship. bill gates, who has his sun in swati, is a great personification of this energy. unlike the so many billionaires who just take take take for themselves, unlike all those power-mongers who just want to take take take away from others, gates gives back & gives better than he gets, & maybe that’s why he def continues to get pretty darn good!

lokah samastah sukhino bhavantu: may all beings everywhere be happy & free, & may the thoughts, words & actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness & freedom for all. because until everyone is happy & free, none of us are.

bonus trax: tomorrow is saturday, which is saturn’s day, & saturn wants us to unplug, withdraw, get quiet, so i honor that energy by not posting. however, tomorrow is a full moon in scorpio & i wanted to give you a heads-up b/c scorpio’s waters can be mentally-emotionally dark & choppy. make sure to keep your wits about you, make sure you don’t dive so deep that you can’t tell which way is up, that your feet get tangled in the seaweed of delusion. you can find out more about tomorrow’s full moon from my friend swati here. … & … i don’t study the outer planets (pluto, neptune & uranus) b/c they are not part of the vedic tradition, but i have it on good authority that venus will be conjunct (hanging out closely with) uranus tomorrow & that could create some romantic/relationship sparks—just make sure they don’t incite a conflagration!
