it’s monday, may 18, & moon is in the starspace called revati, which occupies the last sky-slice of pisces, which is also the last sky-slice of the zodiac. i mean, we’re not gonna fall off here, but just to recognize that the zodiac begins in aries & ends in pisces. & so we are ending today & will begin again tomorrow. it’s another way, besides the cycle of new moon to new moon, to notice our progress, our spiritual evolution. pisces invites us into the depths of our imagination & consciousness. sometimes it’s hard to tell what’s real & what’s imagination. are dreams real, another layer of reality, or not? as the experimental playwright sibyl kempson recently said, “whatever’s in our imagination, i think, is part of reality.”
revati—have i said this before, do i always say this? forgive me if that’s true—is another of my favorite nakshatras, b/c it’s like the french word for dream, rêve, but dreamier; it seems to languorously extend the dream state, which, see above, is part of our reality. revati is ruled by pushan, the cosmic shepherd who leads us home, leads us back to where we started, which is not separate from god. does that state of oneness sometimes feel like a dream? if so, would that we were all dreamcatchers & -holders.
it’s the twelfth tithi (lunar phase), which is connected to the sun. the sun gives us clarity & vision. the sun’s rays can scorch, he can be intense. if you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen—otherwise enjoy the purification!
monday is the moon’s day, so it’s a good day to let your feeling nature guide you, to trust your intuition, your heart-knowing.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. the moon is our consciousness & i hope that by unpacking the cosmic forces influencing it every day, you’ll be better able to understand & thus lean into its ever-changing vibrations & use them to your advantage.
