it’s wednesday, may 20, & moon moves into the starspace called bharani, which is the second sky-slice of aries, about 11 am mountain time. under the sway of aries, we tap into our fire & passion, our desire to get ‘er done, make something happen, strike out in a new direction. with mars, the ruler of aries, now in aquarius, that new direction may hew toward humanitarian concerns, like volunteering or, say, coming up with a genius way to redirect all the economic recovery $$$ away from the rich, where it’s been funneled, to those truly in need, the working class folks.
bharani means “to bear” & the symbol of this asterism is the womb. the womb bears children, which are perhaps the most creative, or most primally creative, expression humans are capable of. so creative potential is here, but more so the magnitude of feminine energy—receptivity & nurturing & definitely, um, forbearance & sacrifice. the deeper meaning is seen in the womb as a doorway between worlds, between the astral plane, where the soul hangs out, & the physical plane, where the soul incarnates in human form, emerges through the doorway of the womb. what is brewing, simmering, fermenting in the subtle planes of your consciousness that you might be ready to birth, bring into manifestation, ease through the doorway between imagination & reality?
it’s the fourteenth tithi (lunar day), which means the moon is getting very dark & that we’ve got one more day to prepare for the dark moon itself, to let go of, release, whatever isn’t serving us, to empty ourselves as much as possible to create space to begin to wax—i.e., grow, fill out, become newly whole—in the new moon cycle.
wednesday is mercury’s day & that’s the day i save to check a ton of emailing & phone-calling off my to-do list, b/c mercury is good with details & b/c it’s more fun to let it pile up & feel a giddy sense of accomplishment—fun definitely dovetails with details in mercury’s universe.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. the moon is our consciousness & i hope that by unpacking the cosmic forces influencing it every day, you’ll be better able to understand & thus lean into its ever-changing vibrations & use them to your advantage.
