daily bliss alexanderit’s thursday, may 23, & moon is in capricorn in the starspace called uttara ashadha. if uttara ashadha sounds familiar, that’s because it’s the complement to yesterday’s purva ashadha. “ashadha” means unsubduable (not sure if that’s a word!), that which cannot be repressed; this energy reminds us of our highest purpose, our highest expression of self, that thing that we just have to do in this lifetime, or, yeah, this week, for starters. what will not be subdued in you? what is bubbling to the surface, wanting to see the light of day? what is dying to be born, get done, show its face to the world?

while sagittarius helped us tap into inspiration & do some pruning so that we could make space for the light of inspiration to shine through, capricorn gives us the discipline to turn that inspiration into reality, to assimilate & begin to manifest, make tangible, that which cannot be, will not be, repressed in us.

in order to do that, we have to distinguish between needs & wants, which may require getting quiet, getting still, to figure out. is that snowy hike in the woods a want or a need? could be either—could be a distraction or could be the immersion in nature that provides a touchstone to source, to truth. thank goodness capricorn is ruled by saturn, who encourages solitude & perseverance & not rushing the process, who wants us to think-think-think before we act.

& thank goodness the presiding deity is vishwadeva, who controls the brain cells (you know you’re not in control, right?) & helps us concentrate our precious mental faculties of attention (& intention).

& it’s the fifth phase of the waning moon, which has to do with creativity & healing.

so the cosmos has our back (as, yeah, it always does), but that doesn’t mean our work is easy, that it will be without sacrifice, that we might feel, & need to feel, a little lonely right now, a bit like a monk.

& that’s your daily bliss—thursday is jupiter’s day, so call on your teachers or teachings for guidance; i mean, that’s what they’re there for!
