it’s thursday, may 25, & moon is in cancer, in the starspace called ashlesha. the word in sanskrit for heart is hridaya (ह्रदय), which actually means heart-mind, suggesting (rather blatantly) that our heart, our feeling nature, is the true seat of our knowing, of our wisdom. the environment of cancer invites us to we “think” with our heart, let our heart be our guide. how much do you trust your heart-knowing, your intuition?
ashlesha is ruled by the celestial serpent kingdom, the nagas, who contain both poison & wisdom. this asterism gives us the power to overcome our enemies & to extract wisdom from the depths of our being, from the winding nooks & crannies of our psyche, where, um, our enemies, aka our demons, live. “nagas are not simply snakes but represent all the transformative electrical forces of the cosmos from the material level to that of pure consciousness,” writes david frawley. “the entire universe and all of space consists of various wormholes through which subtle currents are relentlessly flowing. these currents are all nagas, snakes or serpents in a metaphorical sense, powers arising out of a hole or moving through a channel.” as without so within. how might you extract wisdom from your own demons—limiting beliefs, self-judgments, false narratives—by traveling through your own inner wormholes, use them as a powerful force of transformation?
it’s the sixth lunar day, the sixth phase of the waxing moon, which is connected to kartikeya, shiva’s younger son (& ganesha’s baby bro’). kartikeya was a precocious general, born with the superpower to vanquish the most demonic demons at a very young age. it’s a great good day to vanquish our own demons (which see above!) & then kick up our heals & celebrate, or just celebrate all the demons we’ve already conquered.
thursday is ruled by jupiter, aka the guru, the one who brings us wisdom in the form of teachers & teachings, who eventually but inevitably give us the wisdom to know that the guru lies within. i mean doesn’t the best teacher want his/her/their students to outshine them, realize s/he/they are obsolete?
bonus track: today (& tomorrow) is also when the conjunction between jupiter & rahu (the disrupter/confuser) is at its peak, so it’s especially important to be mindful about who we take advice from, about not following advice blindly. trust but take time to verify!
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
