it’s wednesday, may 29, & moon moves into aquarius from capricorn about 8:30 a.m. MDT while being transported & supported by the starspace called dhanishtha. both capricorn & aquarius are ruled by saturn, who loves to remind us that we don’t have forever. whereas in capricorn that not-forever concerns our immediate life, our personal goals, in aquarius our concerns for the world around us, from our neighborhood to our city to the entire country, even to the whole planet. what one thing can you do today to make a positive dent in the world around you, inch it toward the more beautiful world you know is possible & that you’d love to inhabit?

dhanishtha is the star of wealth, of abundance. its name means “wealthiest” or “most beneficent,” & its alternative name, shravishtha, can be translated as “most heard of” or “most famous.” you might have noticed the echo of shravana, the previous nakshatra (see yesterday’s post for more). do you think wealth might be connected to a hit of wisdom from your most innermost innermost beingness? this asterism has the power to give fame & abundance, which is both an inside & outside job—it helps us remember that true abundance is a feeling & helps us manifest abundance in the material world.

it’s the seventh lunar day (tithi), the seventh phase of the waning moon, which is, like aquarius, ruled by saturn, reinforcing attention to our duties, keeping our nose pressed to the grindstone, making sure we don’t fall off our dharmic wagon. this tithi gives us the courage & self-control to shed our attachment to limiting beliefs & negative patterns so we can take full responsibility for our lives. & if we’re struggling to do so, if our ego is getting in the way, we may get a little help in the form of a situation that brings us to our knees, gives us no choice but to surrender, be humble.

wednesday is infused with mercury’s desire to dispel ignorance, starting with his/her/their own. “true ignorance is not the absence of knowledge, but the refusal to acquire it,” according to philosopher karl popper. mercury’s curiosity is what compels this desire, attachment to nothing but the truth, to its acquisition. how curious are you? how much do you really want to know? how objective can you be? mercury isn’t partisan, is like switzerland.

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
