it’s monday, may 2, & moon is in taurus, in the starspace called krittika. taurus vibrates with the frequency of our earthly happiness, which is conditional & is the starting point for unconditional happiness, aka contentment/bliss. but we gotta start somewhere!

“real happiness is a state of consciousness & yoga is tuning into the frequency of the divinity, the love & the ecstasy that is dormant within the heart of each & every one of us.”—radhananth swami

moon is exalted in taurus, it’s moon’s happy place, so the next couple of days we can feel into our external sources of happiness—food? nature? art? literature? our partner? our children?—& see if we can seat that feeling in our heart so we always have access to it … even when we’re out of chocolate or our partner isn’t available.

krittika (from krit, “to cut”) is represented in the celestial sphere by the seven stars that make up the pleiades & are known in vedic lore as the seven krittikas, who are the wives of the seven great sages who look after the affairs of the galaxy. so this cutting energy is feminine in nature, reflective & internal rather than active & external. this asterism brings a lesson about using the sharp tools at our disposal constructively rather than destructively—to pierce the layers of our own dysfunctional mental & emotional conditioning with a laser-like focus & surgically excise what is preventing us from being our most authentic, most aligned selves. it’s helpful to make sure we do this from a place of groundedness, calmness, in which our sympathetic nervous systems aren’t activated—when we’re not, say, feeling anxious or numb, but openhearted & compassionate.

it’s the second lunar day, the second phase of the waxing moon, which is connected to lord krishna, to creativity sourced in devotion to the divine. is your intention for manifestation in this lunar cycle connected to source, to what’s highest in you?

monday is ruled by the moon, which is the part of us that is unlimitedly caring & nourishing.

“care is the symptom of love.”—radhanath swami

who do you care about? how do you show it? are you generous or stingy with your love?

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
