it’s monday, may 30, & we have a new moon in taurus, in the starspace called rohini. taurus, an earth sign ruled by venus, vibrates with the frequency of what we value, of being resourced & consolidating resources, of contingency planning, of creating & enjoying an abundant material life &, most importantly, sharing that abundance with others, for venus gives us a desire to be social, be in relationship. if, say, you just closed on your first home (wink! wink!), this new moon supports feathering your new nest, of creating a cozy, stable, delicious environment to enjoy yourself & invite others into.

rohini—the star of creativity, fertility, passion & beauty—brings a lesson about not being possessive of what we manifest, not hoarding our abundance, keeping the beauty we bring into the world to ourselves. in one story, prajapati, the creator, wanted to create the most gorgeous beings possible, so in order to do so he mated with his daughter, rohini. (don’t ask me why, if he’d already created his daughters he couldn’t just zap some other beings into existence!) in another story, rohini was sooooo favored by the moon that he spent every night with her, until the other nakshatras got jealous & moon was forced to share his nights equally with all, & wax & wane in the process. either way, we can see that jealousy & possessiveness can come into play with attachment—to our creations, to the people in our lives. i mean, love surely inspires the greatest attachments, no?

our moon work for the next lunar cycle invites us to take practical steps toward grounding our life in a feeling of abundance, which means being both powerfully present & unattached to both the usefulness & beauty of what we have, & knowing that we always have all we need & have more than enough to share. we get to ask ourselves whether the people & objects & experiences—all of our earthly delights—are in alignment with our values, & how we can create more value for ourselves. with taurus’s ruler, venus, in fiery aries right now, we may be feeling especially fired up about our relationships: either frustrated with them or inspired to take them deeper.

one thing that’s always true is that what’s loving for us is also loving for others, so it’s a good time to love on ourselves, nourish ourselves—take long bubble baths, walks in nature, eat delicious food, all of which will support our inner venus, our creativity.

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
