it’s tuesday, may 3, & moon is in taurus, in the starspace called rohini. & it’s akshaya tritiya, an incredibly auspicious day of the year when both luminaries are exalted, emitting maximum light—sun in aries, moon in taurus. “akshaya” means “imperishable, eternal, the never diminishing” in terms of prosperity, hope, joy & success, while “tritiya,” which means “third,” refers to the third lunar day of the spring month of vaishakha. it is said that any ill effects from malefic planets in transit are nullified & good luck & success in new enterprises or beginnings (think weddings, investments, esp buying gold or property) are virtually guaranteed. if there is some new juicy thing on your agenda, do take advantage of the benevolent energies abounding today. as is always true, one way to invite more abundance, more prosperity, into our lives is to be generous, so it’s a great good day to support our favorite charities, donate $ to a great good cause, like—dare i say?—planned parenthood.
rohini is the moon’s favorite place & brings a lesson about how what feels good isn’t always in our best interest, b/c it doesn’t necessarily support our soul development; it can make us lazy, complacent, a little too ego-identified. our mission, if we accept it, is to be ever vigilant about succumbing to our desire nature, our kama, lest it distract us from doing what’s right, from fulfilling our dharma, & eventually freeing ourselves from this mortal coil.
it’s the third lunar day, the third phase of the waxing moon, which means we get to be flexible today, go with rather than against the flow, be willing & ready to change direction with the wind. it is no fun & so not productive to be so attached to our way of being/doing that we are willing to plow onward into a headwind.
tuesday is ruled by mars, our warrior spirit, our ability to fight the good fight. safe to say, most of us woke up today, or fell asleep last night, realizing that the good fight is sometimes never over. the supremes overturning roe, deleting 50 years of progress, returning us to the dark ages? wtf?! what’s next, having women wear scarlet letters? jailing gay & trans & binary & etc. people? outlawing astrology? banning books? wait, that’s already happening. grrrrrr!!!
