it’s wednesday, may 6, & moon is in the starspace called swati, which occupies a lovely sky-slice of libra. libra is ruled by venus, who wants everyone to be happy, for everything to be good for you & good for me. so this energy invites us to find balance, harmony, easy give & take in our relationships, whether they’re business or romantic or platonic. if your relationships aren’t working for you, aren’t mutually beneficial, consider that you are the common denominator in all of them: maybe something needs to shift in you. maybe it would be helpful if you gave less & allowed yourself to receive more, or vice versa. just saying!
swati is ruled by vayu, lord of the wind & hanuman’s father. hanuman possessed a ridiculous amount of envious qualities, including strength, intelligence, loyalty, & morality. according to the “ramayana,” he was so clueless about his great prowess that he had to be reminded of it by others, others had to mirror it back to him. if they didn’t, he may never have saved sita from the clutches of ravana! which amazing qualities of your own lie hidden within you? who reflects your magnificence back to you? who tells you that, yes, you can do it, whatever “it” is? are you remaining too humble for your own good? for the good of the world? are you afraid to share your gifts? remember that when we keep ourselves small, we keep others small as well, but when we allow ourselves to step into our bigness, we give others permission to be big as well. how big did hanuman get? so big that “the sinews on his neck and back stood out like cobras”!
it’s the fifteenth phase of the waxing moon, which means moon is about as full as full can be, although it will not technically be full-full until i get up tomorrow morning, about an hour before sunrise, so either get out tonight & howl at that fullish moon (as we do in boulder at 8 pm) or get up before dawn tomorrow & catch its full brilliance. more on the full moon tomorrow.
wednesday is ruled by mercury, who is very detail-oriented & has great powers of discrimination, so it’s a good day to get with the details of your life & use your discriminating intelligence.
