it’s thursday, august 28, & moon is in libra, in the starspace called svātī. libra vibrates with the frequency of relationships, all kinds—business, pleasure, familial, major & minor. humans are social beings. we are meant to be in relationship. & unless we live in a cave in the himalayas, which, i assume, if you are reading this, you do not, we are constantly, more or less, relating to others. each relationship, each encounter (yes, that interaction with the cashier at the grocery store counts, as does the one with the dude who scans your gym ID) is a sort of test to see how you show up, reveals who you really are, the other person mirroring back the answer: were you your most authentic self—yes or no? did you show up as your best self—yes or no?
“relationship, surely, is the mirror in which you discover yourself. … to be is to be related; to be related is existence.”—krishnamurti
what do your relationships reflect about who you are?
svātī is ruled by vayu, the god of the wind, who happened to be hanuman’s dad. it is connected to prana, our inner winds, our precious faculties of attention & intention, our vital life force, literally our breath. it is said that we are born with a finite number of breaths—we know not how many. this asterism invites us to ask whether we are using ours as if they are precious or as disposable, as if there is an endless supply, as if we could just buy more. whether we are harnessing & focusing them, as hanuman did to save sita from the demon ravana, enabling him to fly like the wind over an ocean, or wasting them, letting them be scattered on the wind.
hanuman didn’t know he could do what he did. what powers, what gifts, might you discover if you focused focused focused?
it’s the sixth lunar day (tithi), the sixth phase of the waxing moon, which helps us give our dream form, make it not just tangible but as indestructible as a diamond. what was your wildest dream yesterday?
thursday is ruled by jupiter, guru to one & all, infinite source of wisdom, who gives us the ability to see the big picture, connects us to our highest purpose, reminds us that the universe has our back.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
