what to know so you can align with today’s energy from a vedic (not western/tropical) astrology point of view: it’s friday, september 4, moon is in taurus, in the starspace called rohiṇī until just before noon, then mṛgaśira, it’s the eighth phase of the waning moon until just after noon, then the ninth, & venus’ day.
taurus …
… is our comfort zone, & where we take comfort in our material existence, in our stuff & think more & bigger is better. a 5,000-square-foot house instead of a 1,500-square-foot condo, longer vacations, newer cars & endless pairs of designer shoes, etc.
& where we eventually but inevitably realize that a bigger house means more work, that our comfort, our pleasure, lasts only until someone dings our brand-new mustang/mercedes/subaru in a parking lot or we discover mold in our basement or break an ankle skiing in the alps & the spell is broken.
the key, i think, is to find pleasure/comfort/satisfaction in each moment, to IN-joy what we can while we can without expecting it to last forever.
thoughts?
rohiṇī …
… is ruled by prajapati, who created the whole world from his own body without losing his essence. we, too, can give & create generously, from a sense of abundance, without diminishing our own selves.
mṛgaśira …
… is related to the parable of a deer (mṛga = “deer”) searching-searching-searching for the sweet fragrance of musk wafting around him, not realizing that it is emanating from a gland under his own darn belly.
the lesson is that our search for something to quench our incessant internal thirst once & for all isn’t going to end until we realize that what we are searching for is not “out there” but “in here.”
the eighth lunar day (tithi), …
… the eighth phase of the waning moon, is the halfway point in moon’s journey, when it is half dark & half light, & supports us in embracing our darkness & our light, the stuff we love about ourselves as well as the stuff we don’t, b/c, um, it’s all us!
this waning tithi in conjunction with moon in rohiṇī marks the birthday of krishna, the avatar who appeared when there was too much darkness (adharma) in the world—where is he now?! krishna is the all-attractive one. he’s love, the energy that attracts & binds all (in a good way!).
love is, as einstein famously said, what holds the universe together.
the ninth tithi …
… is one of those that are better for internal rather than external activities, for, in this case, looking at our shadow qualities, our darkness, & by extracting wisdom from it, turning it into light.
friday …
… is ruled by venus, planet of our embodied existence, who allows us to experience the pleasures of our earthly life & also rules taurus, making it a double-good day to do so.
what’s your pleasure? can you IN-joy every moment?!
🌗
the daily bliss is 100% human generated! the act of creation is intrinsic to being human—when we give up our agency to create, we cease, little by little, to be fully human.
may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little (or a lot!) more bliss in your life.
