it’s monday, february 2, & moon moves from cancer into leo, from the starspace called aśleṣā into maghā, midmorning, it’s the first tithi & moon’s day.

cancer is the sign of the divine feminine, of unconditional love, the kind a mother/parent has for their child. it flows naturally, effortlessly, without trying, unlike parenting, which is work, takes effort. (think answering the call of a feverish child at 2 a.m., packing school lunches & making sure homework gets done every single day, etc., etc., etc.)

leo is the sign of the divine masculine (we’re talking energy not gender), of feeling protective over & responsible for those dependent on us for safety & guidance.

perhaps most importantly, the juncture between cancer & leo, as between all water & fire signs, is called a “gandanta,” is a sort of no-fly zone—planets enter at their own risk, have to fly blind, can’t contact the control tower for assistance if they need it.

gand = “knot”; anta = “end.” the knot is a karmic bit of business we are still tugging on. but/& the harder we tug at a knot, the tighter it becomes, the longer it takes to unknot. aśleṣā’s job (see yesterday’s post if you missed it) is to reveal what we are holding onto for dear life so we can let go of it—to untie a knot you have to relax your grip.

moon is our mind, crossing the gandanta is precarious, so mind the gap, be gentle with yourself, give your mind space to land, taxi, cool its jets.

maghā is ruled by the pitris, our ancestors, all those who came before us & paved our way, knowingly or not, who taught us something (starting with our parents—how’d we know how to, say, brush our teeth otherwise?) or set an example, showed us how to be in the world.

their examples became our inheritance.

we, too, will be the ancestors of all those who come after us.

what will be your legacy, what inheritance will you leave?

it’s the first lunar day (tithi), the first phase of the waning moon, & i don’t know about you, but yesterday’s full moon was a doozy, pretty much slayed me, which turned out to be a gift, helped me unknot a knot. how’s about you?

monday is ruled by the moon, who teaches us that flow is trust, not control.

bonus track: the second tithi (after 1:30 p.m. MST) + maghā + monday is a trifecta for amrita, to experience/taste the nectar, the juicy-juiciness, of life. what might that mean for you?

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
