it’s wednesday, july 17, & moon is in scorpio, in the starspace called anuradha. i hate to say it, but scorpio is where our emotional pain lives, where we experience dark nights of the soul. but/& scorpio is ruled by mars, who gives us the courage to dive into the darkness of our psyche, into our pain, so we can overcome it rather than be victims to it, so we can rule it rather than being ruled by it. how do we do that? by being with it & asking why it’s there, what we have to learn from it, by extracting meaning from it. no pain, no gain, right?!
“as far as we can discern, the sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light of meaning in the darkness of mere being.”—carl jung
anuradha is ruled by mitra, the divine friend, which is what radha was to krishna. no, they were not married—they were actually married to other people—& there was nothing inappropriate going on between them. radha, who was utterly devoted to krishna, represents the individual soul, krishna the universal soul. their relationship suggests the desire of the one to merge into/with the other, which is what we all, even if we’re not conscious of it, desire. but there’s a twist: krishna is said to be the sugar, the ultimate sweetness, & the reason radha didn’t actually become one with krishna is that it’s sweeter to taste the sugar than be it—we may want liberation, but we don’t really wanna die an ego death, right?! how can you be like radha (“anu” + “radha”), taste the sweetness of the divine in your friendships, experience the divine in one & all?
it’s the twelfth lunar day (tithi), the twelfth phase of the waxing moon, from about 9:30 a.m. MDT (see yesterday’s post if you’re reading this earlier), which is said to give wealth (“shri”) & abundance—money, fame, wisdom, spiritual achievement—in accordance with our vision. what’s your vision?
wednesday is ruled by mercury, who loves words & ideas, & words that express ideas, like: “oubaitori,” (n.) “the japanese idea that people, like flowers, bloom in their own time & in their individual ways.” &, given that the symbol for anuradha is the lotus, & represents the heart of scorpio, the heart of darkness, that we all rise & blossom from the mud & muck of our fears, attachments, insecurities & negative/limiting beliefs.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
