it’s wednesday, november 10, & moon is in capricorn, in the starspace called shravana. saturn-ruled capricorn vibrates with the frequency of taking our life seriously, as in we seriously aren’t going to be here forever, so why do we keep putting off till tomorrow what can be done today? some of us love deadlines, can’t get anything done without them (surely it’s not just me!), & saturn reminds us that we all have a deadline, an expiration date, & none of us know when that is, so best to make hay while we can, make sure we’ve done what we came here to do so we don’t have to come back & do it all over again.
shravana brings the lesson of deep listening. when we listen acutely to outer sounds, like the sound of music, we begin to discern more subtlety & can bring that nuance into our inner listening. there is a meditation in which you just close your eyes & listen to whatever sounds emerge, from the emptiness of silence, & so become, what alan watts describes as, “a witness to the beginning of the universe.” as without, so within. shravana supports us in being a witness to the beginning of the universe within, to source, the source of all that is. happy listening!
it’s the seventh lunar day, the seventh phase of the waxing moon, which is related to lord indra, whose reputation pendulumed from best king ever to prideful fool, depending on whether you’re reading the vedas or the puranas. obviously, we want to go high, not low, channel the qualities of indra that are in our best interests, indra as sustainer rather than exploiter of the world. in what ways can you responsibly rule your world, your kingdom, do so with love & compassion rather than ego?
wednesday is ruled by mercury, the ur communicator. mercury & mars have been duking it out in a planetary war the past two days, trying to one-up the other. with mars wanting to act & merc wanting to talk things through, our goal has been to not use our words as weapons. mercury wants us to say what we mean clearly & mean what we say to prevent miscommunication, b/c we know where miscommunication often leads.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
