it’s sunday, november 10 (although it feels like august here in so cal!), & moon is in the starspace called ashwini, which is the first nakshatra of aries. aries is the first constellation in the zodiac & invites us to begin again, to make a new start, take fresh steps forward. its energy is fiery & focused outward, & inspires us to act out in the world, to make our presence felt, to individuate. the moon will be full in aries in a day or so & if you’ve been feeling the balance shift from “what can i do for you?” to “it’s all about me,” you’re right in sync with the building lunar energy.
ashwini is ruled by the ashwini kumara, who were known as the doctors of the gods, masters of the science of ayurveda. so this asterism is connected to great powers of healing. the ashwini kumara were incarnated as horses (long story—another time!) & not only is the horse a symbol of strength, stamina, & vitality, but it also has the power to heal, as—fun fact!—horses create anti-venom that can cure snake bites.
not-so-fun fact: that anti-venom is produced when horses are injected with snake venom & their bodies produce anti-venom; then they are milked, just like dairy cows, to procure the medicine. which means that horses are enslaved for the benefit of humans. if you take insulin, you might not be aware that it comes from the pancreas of pigs & cattle. if you are on hormone-replacement therapy & are taking premarin, you might not know that it comes from the urine of pregnant horses—& that it is acquired in similarly invasive ways to anti-venom, & that, no, those horses don’t just happen to be pregnant; they are kept manually & unnaturally pregnant just like dairy cows. do we really think our lives are more valuable than those of other beings, that it’s ok to take theirs, to enslave them, for our own benefit? discuss among yourselves!
meanwhile, let’s use the horse’s anti-venom to cure us of our mental poisons, ok?!
it’s the fourteenth lunar day & you may be feeling full to bursting emotionally, especially in regard to others, as the coming full moon is “i”-focused in contrast to the last new moon, which was “other” focused.
sunday is ruled by the sun, which reinforces our sense of our own power & wanting to stand out, be our own person, let ourselves shine as an expression of our unique spirit. may we all shine today & bathe the world in our brilliance!
& that’s your daily bliss! jyotish, vedic astrology, is the science of light. if you want to shine more light on your life, contact me for a session! ~.~
