it’s thursday, november 12, & moon is in virgo, in the starspace called hasta until about midday, then in chitra. virgo wants to keep us safe by anticipating & preventing disasters: “omg, what would happen if i let the dustballs accumulate? would the very foundation of my life crumble beneath me?” under the sway of virgo we can sweep ourselves into a corner, get so preoccupied with the nitty-gritty that we lose sight of the big picture, why we should care about the nitty-gritty. virgo can make us such perfectionists we don’t even want to be around ourselves, nor do other people. so let’s keep a lid on our excessive need to control our environments today, eh, remind ourselves that “perfect” is an illusion?
hasta is ruled by savitur, charging the morning with the illuminating & visionary powers of the sun. chitra is ruled by vishwakarma, the celestial architect, charging the afternoon with the power to create magnificent objects worthy of the gods. did you know that airplanes go allllll the way back to vishwakarma? yes, he created the vimanas of ramayana fame—which came in many forms, including the fighter-chariots rama & other gods flew into battle. so the day is offering us the opportunity to both envision & manifest, & the best way to achieve our visions is to make sure they are aligned with the divine. we can ask god or spirit, “what would you have me create?” ask, “what will serve my highest purpose?”
it’s the thirteenth phase of the waning moon, so it may feel like friday, b/c kamadeva, the hindu cupid, rules this tithi, this lunar phase, planting venus ideas in our minds. so, yeah, do something (everything?!) that brings you pleasure today, especially if it involves being with the ones you love.
thursday is jupiter’s day, a day to seek guidance from the guru. the guru can be a human but it is also a principle, the principle that the world is conspiring to help us evolve, giving us lessons right & left. it’s the job of our inner guru to recognize them, to see them for what they are, that nothing is random: what appears as coincidence is spirit playing anonymous—spirit has our back.
