it’s monday, november 14, & moon is in cancer, in the starspace called pushya. cancer vibrates with the frequency of unconditional love, of the gift of the divine feminine to nourish & protect, spread her wings like a giant mama bird & shelter those who need it under her impenetrable feathery umbrella. & the only way we are truly available to nourish others is if we keep ourselves nourished as well; otherwise we risk running ourselves into the ground & then we’re no good to anyone, including ourselves. the upside of cancer is our giving nature; the downside is, um, our overgiving nature.
pushya, the asterism right smack dab in the watery heart of cancer, brings a lesson about what we nourish & how we do so. sometimes we nourish with kind words, an offer of help, a remedy, a nudge. i’ve been laid way low since last wednesday with lord knows what, but thanks to a trusted friend’s suggestion, & the fact that i had a whole pound of dried elderberries sitting on my counter waiting to be put to use, i brewed up some syrup, then made a concoction of that + fire cider (always good to have on hand; you can find a recipe for that here) + a few other ingredients, according to his recipe, started quaffing that (&, yes, resting a lot!) & am finally able to crawl out from under that rock somewhat this morning (altho, apologies for still being kinda fuzzy-headed!). oh, yeah, i also highly recommend the medicinal mushroom broth from wonder juice bar in boulder for whatever ails you. (&, while it is def plant medicine, it’s not that kind of plant medicine.) that stuff is so the bomb that i have been inspired to make my own & stock my freezer with it as soon as i am able.
it’s the sixth lunar day, the sixth phase of the waning moon, so it’s a good day to, like shiva’s younger son, kartikeya, celebrate our victories, & i’m def celebrating my ability to self-nourish today. what about you?
monday, like cancer, is ruled by the moon, who inspires us to go with our own inner flow, follow our own heart. “don’t worry if you’re making waves simply by being yourself,” says scott stabile. “the moon does it all the time.”
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
