it’s tuesday, november 16, & moon is in aries, in the starspace called ashwini. aries vibrates with the frequency of new beginnings, of making bold strides forward, of asserting ourselves. under the sway of aries, we want to express our unique essence, our individuality, our authentic selves. brené brown says that “authenticity is a practice.” no time better to practice than during aries-moon days. how can you be more authentically you today? what part of your essence have you been hiding from the world?

ashwini is ruled by the ashwin kumara, the twin sons of surya who became the physicians to the gods. ashwins are horses, as were the ashwin kumara. horses are fast & can be impulsive. they also represent our senses, which are related to prana. this asterism brings a lesson about controlling our senses, not letting them run amok, by controlling our prana, our inner winds, through pranayama, breath control. ram dass has said: “love your breath, love your breath, love your breath, love your breath, love your breath.” which i would translate as: “watch your breath, watch your breath, watch your breath, watch your breath, watch your breath.” if we are doing that, there’s less chance that we’ll be impulsively pulled hither & yon by our desires. not that there’s anything wrong with desires, but we want to control them, not the other way around.

it’s the thirteenth lunar day, the thirteenth phase of the waxing moon, which has a venusian quality to it b/c it is related to kamadeva, the hindu cupid, god of love & delight. which means it’s a day to feed your INjoyment, whatever that means, especially if it involves your beloved(s).

tuesday is owned by mars, who gives us courage, who is our inner warrior, ideally our spiritual warrior. but with mars hanging out in libra, the sign of relationships, these days, we may be inclined to use our fighting spirit to criticize others rather than to fight the good fight with our own limiting beliefs. notice, if you do get angry at someone, how that person’s behavior may be a reflection of how you treat yourself—like, are they doing something for themself that you’re not doing for yourself, taking care of themself in a way that you’re not taking care of you?

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
