it’s wednesday, november 18, & moon is in sagittarius, in the starspace called purvashadha. sagittarius’s ruling planet, jupiter, gets to spend a couple more days at home before he moves into capricorn for the next year, so let’s max out that time. jupiter is the planet of hope & expansion, saturn, who rules capricorn, is the opposite, the planet of practicality & contraction. which means that jupiter is going to feel stymied, constrained, when he moves signs. which means that, like squirrels storing nuts for the winter, we are advised to store up as much hope & optimism as possible, to get clear about our highest purpose & about the big picture & our place in the world. b/c we will probably feel challenged, we might start to lose hope, lose perspective. if need be, write your vision down & keep it handy—don’t squirrel it away & forget where you put it!
purvashadha asks us to water the seeds we made room for when we yanked out those weeds yesterday, to nurture them. this asterism is ruled by apas, the god of the ocean, the ocean of devotion. all it really takes to grow a thing is love & devotion, desire & commitment—without them, nothing can grow that really matters. as a coach i know recently said, 100 percent is possible 100 percent of the time, but only if we are 100 percent committed. what are you committed to growing, manifesting, bringing into the light of day?
it’s the fourth lunar day until midmorning, then the fifth, which means this afternoon we can lean into the feeling of being victorious over the hurdles we’ve jumped over since yesterday afternoon, the obstacles we’ve overcome, the mountains we’ve transformed either into molehills or have summited with perseverance & grace.
wednesday is mercury’s day, which means today is all about gathering info & communicating, sharing ideas, being in dialogue. with both passionate, fiery mars & stern, fearful saturn staring right at mercury now, it will be helpful to remember that mercury likes to keep things light & playful, that mercury is the switzerland of planets & hews toward neutrality. being more switzerland than north korea today will serve you.
