it’s thursday, november 18, & moon is in taurus, in the starspace called bharani until about noon, when it moves into krittika, where it’s going to be full & partially eclipsed overnight. taurus is the moon’s favorite place & vibrates with the frequency of feeling emotionally juicy & supported, of being in our comfort zone. but rahu (the north node) is also in taurus, which is why we have the eclipse tonight—when sun, moon & nodes line up eclipses happen. rahu is an expander, an exaggerator, & also a master of illusion & confusion, an obfuscator, so while he may increase our emotional juiciness, he also throws smoke & mirrors our way in the process, disguises or hides the truth, about our emotions in this case, from us. beware & be gentle with yourself—& others.
bharani (see yesterday’s post for more) brings the lesson that our actions, our choices, have consequences, so we might still be reassessing & pivoting this morning. krittika, which is ruled by agni, the primordial god of fire, brings the lesson of, well, purification by fire. fire is transformative—i mean, what’s more transformative than turning wood into ash?—& so are eclipses. we are being invited to turn our limiting beliefs, our unhealthy behavioral patterns, into ash, burn them the eff up. it’s a good night for a metaphorical or actual bonfire. what can you toss in?
it’s the fifteenth phase of the waxing moon, which results in the full moon & partial lunar eclipse. we will be feeling into & feeling full of that energy today & into tomorrow & maybe even until the solar eclipse on december 4. we’re in the eclipse portal, a time when our stuff comes out of the shadows & we get to deal with it. you know what they say: what we resist persists. the eclipse is a time to turn inward, to meditate & journal, fast if that’s your thing, get quiet to explore the nooks & crannies of your psyche, purge & purify.
thursday is ruled by jupiter, our connection to our highest purpose. if we can tap into that knowing, we can get rid of (burn or toss) anything & everything that doesn’t support that, doesn’t reflect all that we can be. no better time to get with that than during the eclipse in krittika!
