daily blissit’s monday, november 18, & moon is in the starspace called ashlesha, which occupies the last sky-slice of cancer. cancer is ruled by the moon & is the sign of unconditional love, of deep heart connection to others. sometimes we are so connected to others that we feel their pain, sometimes even more than they do, & we want to alleviate it, take it on ourselves so they don’t have to suffer. if you’ve been feeling particularly vulnerable emotionally since moon went into cancer in the wee hours yesterday morning, particularly sensitive, that’s why. do hang with those you love, do have empathy, but don’t feel like you have to take on their stuff—maintain your boundaries.

ashlesha means to embrace. when we take form as humans, we embrace life so we can work out & work through our karma. it’s only by dealing with what life throws at us that we can learn the lessons we’re meant to learn & move on … to the next lesson. what we resist persists, what we refuse to confront/embrace will just keep coming at us in a “groundhog day” fashion until we finally wake the eff up & go, hmmmm, maybe the universe is trying to tell me something. the hardest lessons to learn often come from overcoming our weaknesses, our blind spots, & thus they bring the greatest rewards. being able to embrace our negative qualities or thoughts, our weaknesses, what undermines us, & turn them into strengths is the blessing of ashlesha.

it’s the seventh phase of the waning moon, which is related to lord indra, who was the king of the gods, so it’s a good day to feel like the ruler of your royal realm yourself. but lord indra’s ride was a bit of a rollercoaster thanks to his ego (yeah, gods have egos too!), he was in & out of favor, ruled with a sense of noblesse oblige & with a sense of pride, which was his downfall. you know what they say: pride goeth before the fall. so keep an eye on your ego today. know that you get to walk through your realm through divine grace not your own power.

monday is ruled by the moon, which makes for deep heart connection, but can also bring heightened emotions, so with moon in moon-ruled cancer & its being the moon’s day, you might wanna carry a hanky with you today & secure your boundaries.
