it’s monday, november 20, & moon is in aquarius, in the starspace called dhanishta until about 9 am in the rockies, then shatabhishak. aquarius vibrates with the frequency of humanitarianism. it’s where our concerns are not for our own personal world but the world in general. it’s where we want to be of service, somehow, some way, where we are inspired to donate our time or money, organize or work on or raise money for a good cause. saturn, who rules aquarius, is there now, stressing us out & making us fearful & depressed about the state of the world, & mars, who is gazing at both from scorpio, making us mad or frustrated as hell. rather than crawl back under the covers or just fume, we can do something—call a congressperson, give five bucks to a homeless person, pick up trash, drop some food at a food bank. what can you do today to improve the world around you?
dhanishta means “wealthy” or “abundant” & is symbolized by a drum, like shiva’s damaru. this asterism invites us to find our own rhythm, our inner source of abundance. “once you have an inner richness of life,” said osho, “you don’t seek wealth. you don’t seek power.” shatabhishak is ruled by varuna, the god of cosmic & earthly waters. he is also both the bringer of sin, debt, injury & disease & the remover of those impediments. this asterism gives us the power to cure ourselves of all kinds of difficult karma. it is also connected to shiva. soooo, maybe dance to shiva’s drum a bit, connect to your truth, then sit & meditate to propitiate varuna to help you transform & transcend whatever karma is eating at you.
it’s the eighth lunar day (tithi), the eighth phase of the waxing moon, when moon is exactly halfway on the journey to fullness—equally dark, equally light, equally unseen, equally seen. our invitation is to accept & embrace both our darkness & our light, our shadow & our not, to harmonize the opposing forces within us.
monday is ruled by the moon, & with all the malefic pressure on it from saturn & mars, we may be feeling especially weighed down emotionally. that’s ok—we are meant to feel our feelings, just not wallow in them. so let your feelings have their say, then thank them & bid them adieu, do something for the world!
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
