it’s wednesday, november 20, & moon is in the starspace called purva phalguni, which occupies the middle sky-slice of leo, the sign of the king. leo invites us to—well, leo doesn’t really invite, leo commands, like a king with a scepter in hand—step into our power & express it outward. but in order to do so, at least with the best outcome for all beings everywhere, we have to be in right relationship with ourselves. if we aren’t, if we don’t, for example, love ourselves, we can’t & won’t love others, & we may wield our power for selfish or nefarious purposes (which see how a certain leo occupying the highest office in our land models that), rather than for the greater good of all. it’s so much better for everyone, including ourselves, when we rule (ie, make choices, which inevitably impact others as well as ourselves) from a place of love.
purva phalguni is ruled by bhaga, the god of luck & good fortune. what we think of as luck is really the fruit of our past good deeds dripping with juiciness like a ripe mango. just as it can be hard to comprehend, from a karmic point of view, why, for example, bad things can happen to good people, sometimes it’s hard to understand why good things happen to bad people or why some people seem to enjoy such a bounty of the good stuff. but we do know that the best way to bring on the good stuff, eventually but inevitably, is to make choices, perform actions, that are in right relationship with ourselves, that come from a place of integrity, a place of love.
it’s the ninth phase of the waning moon, which relates to serpent energy. did you know that there’s a connection between serpents & dragons? don’t dragons kinda look serpenty? i mean they’ve got those long tails & long necks! just like serpents, dragons represent our inner demons, our negative limiting beliefs, so today is a good day to slay your mental dragons or serpents, metaphorically of course—i can’t condone the slaughter of animals!
wednesday is owned by mercury, who goes direct today after three-ish weeks of being retrograde. which means it’s time to put all that thinking you’ve been doing about relationships (b/c mercury has been in & still is in libra, which is all about wanting our relationships to be harmonious) into action, to bring closure or resolution to those issues that have been the subject of all your mental gymnastics.
