it’s tuesday, november 21, & moon is in aquarius, & will have moved from the starspace called shatabhishak, where it was while i was writing this, into purvabhadra by the time you read this. in the environment of aquarius we hew toward being awesome global citizens, especially with the sign’s ruler, saturn, in the house, reminding us that our city-state-country-planet can’t wait forever for us to do something. that doing something can even take the form of not-doing, like not creating more trash or pollution by using fewer resources (driving or flying less, anyone?) or buying less stuff, or less packaged stuff, which creates excess garbage, especially—ugh!—plastic, which we all know by now is barely recycled, right? if you are still actually buying water in plastic bottles, it’s a good day to vow not to any longer!
purvabhadra brings a lightning flash of inspiration, & thus potential transformation, which is at least a spark of a spark of a direct experience of god, the divine, cause where else do we think those “aha!” moments come from? & guess what? we have them all. day. long. we just aren’t usually awake enough to recognize them for what they are, may take them for granted, become complacent about them—”oh, yeah, that idea can wait—next!” but you know what they say, “use it or lose it.” how many ideas have you let wither & die? this asterism is connected to both jupiter, planet of inspiration, & agni, spiritual fire. for those who are ready it has the potential to uplevel their sadhana, but/& for all of us it brings a lesson about the opportunities we are given every day for transformation wherever we are at, if we can only wake up enough to see & appreciate them for what they are.
“much of the evil in the world is due to the fact that man in general is hopelessly unconscious.”—carl jung
it’s the ninth lunar day (tithi), the ninth phase of the waxing moon, the tithi during which we can feel the most emotionally or existentially challenged. just saying!
tuesday is ruled by mars, our anger potential, who is gazing at the moon, so let’s do use his fire to focus our mind & go inward to vanquish our inner obstacles rather than incite us to rage at what we perceive to be external obstacles (i.e., others).
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
