it’s tuesday, november 23, & moon is in gemini, in the starspace called punarvasu. gemini brings out our facile & curious mind. in the environment of this sign we are inclined to pursue new interests or dive deeper into research on a particular subject, to explore new intellectual territory. gemini’s approach can be scholarly but the impetus is enjoyment not rigid discipline. the last thing gemini is is a taskmaster. as soon as something becomes boring, gemini will want to move on. which isn’t a problem, b/c gemini’s curiosity knows no bounds.
punarvasu means return (punar) of the light (vasu). this asterism is ruled by the vasus, demigods who are embodiments of good qualities like prosperity, strength & goodness, & brings the lesson that there is no darkness without light, that, actually, the light is always within, never stops shining—it just gets hidden, dimmed, sometimes. & when it does we have the power to make it shine again, for the vasus, like all the gods & goddesses in the pantheon, are not out there but within each of us; they are superpowers we always have access to.
it’s the fourth lunar day, the fourth phase of the waning moon, which is related to both lord ganesh & lord yama, the bringer (& remover) of obstacles & the bringer of restraint, respectively. so don’t be surprised if you feel stymied. like, i was all set to get a dawn vortex hike in at cathedral mountain (see pic!) this morning, pranam to the gods & goddess who have taken form as sandstone buttes, but ganesh has brought rain, rain, rain & yama frustration as a result. good thing gemini energy allows me to be flexible, pivot, reallocate my morning hours. i’m not saying i’m happy about it—hey, it is tuesday & mars is firing me up a bit—but. …
tuesday, as i just mentioned, is owned by mars, who is our warrior spirit. the highest expression of our inner warrior is to turn it, well, inward, to fight the demons within rather than the ones we perceive as being out there. let’s see if we can each find a limiting belief or negative tendency to vanquish today, yes?
