it’s friday, november 26, & moon is in leo, in the starspace called magha. leo vibrates with the frequency of benevolence from a king who embodies the notion of noblesse oblige, who actually considers the people in his kingdom to be more important than himself & performs his role as a sacred duty. in the environment of leo, we feel into our sense of responsibility for what we rule, for what we have dominion over, which is, ideally, inspired by humility & compassion. we don’t want power so we can lord it over others, but so we can empower others. under the sway of sun-ruled leo we want, like the sun, to shine our light on others, not on ourselves.
magha is ruled by the pitris, the ancestors, & brings the lesson that we stand on the shoulders of maybe not giants but definitely all those who came before us & did the work to make our lives possible. doing the best we can, expressing our authenticity, is one way to honor them—not to mention clean up any ancestral karma that needs to be cleaned up.
it’s the seventh lunar day, the seventh phase of the waning moon, which is ruled by lord indra, ruler of the gods & so a king in his own right. on the spectrum of soul evolution, indra can appear to be more or less sattvic, depending. when he fell off the sattvic bandwagon, he fell hard. his greatest flaw was his big, fat ego, which inclined him to be a king only interested in power & the spoils of it. do i need to say that those are not the kingly qualities we want to embody? that we should take his fall from grace as a cautionary tale? that any power we accrue is best used for the benefit of all?
friday is ruled by venus, who is the part of us that wants to enjoy embodied existence. & why shouldn’t we? i mean, what are these bodies for? why were we designed with arms to hug & mouths to taste & a heart to love? do we really think the divine just threw a bunch of random parts together? so we can honor the divine by making full use of what she gifted us with.
