it’s wednesday, november 27, & moon is in the starspace called jyeshtha, which occupies the last sky-slice of scorpio. the dark, stormy waters of scorpio bring emotional intensity & can feel as destabilizing as, well, dark, choppy waters. the key is to get beneath the surface, to understand what the root of, say, that anger is. in the case of anger, grief is usually the source—an unresolved or unrecognized loss or a need not being met. so our work is to become unattached to the anger, that cresting, frothy wave of emotion, & transform it through some loving action—allowing yourself a good cry, getting your needs met by acknowledging you have them. by taking responsibility for our emotions, we stop being victims of them, & transform weakness into strength.
jyeshtha means eldest & is ruled by indra, who was the king of gods & thus considered an elder. the eldest often has to take on a lot of responsibility (ask me, i know!), like a substitute parent, & can, as a result, lord it over their younger siblings, act like a know-it-all, even like a dictator (which, um, i hope i don’t know!). lording it over the other gods, acting like he knew it all, his overinflated ego, was indra’s downfall. having the weight of the world (or of your family) solely on our shoulders, being unable to ask for advice, to ask for help, can crush us & can create resentment. maintaining what in zen buddhism is called a beginner’s mind, being in a state of receptivity, of not knowing, not thinking we have to know everything, be an expert, keeps us humble & thus keeps us from falling hard, &, hey, it’s really a lot less work when we share the burden! how can you show your humility today? whom can you ask for help? what task can you delegate?
it’s the second phase of the waxing moon, which is related to lord krishna & brings creativity sourced in a sense of devotion, of alignment with the divine. what do you want to manifest & does that urge come from on high?
wednesday is ruled by mercury, so it’s a great good day to write those emails, send that proposal, work on your slideshow presentation, figure out that new computer program, or host an evening of intellectual giving & taking.
& that’s your daily bliss! jyotish, vedic astrology, is the science of light. if you want to shine more light on your life, contact me for a session! ~.~
