the daily blissit’s thursday, november 28, & moon is in the starspace called mula, which occupies the first sky-slice of sagittarius. after the emotional upheaval or emotional deep dive of scorpio, after all that turning inward, sagittarius helps us turn outward & upward. scorpio invited us to transform our emotional angst or preoccupations into devotion & sagittarius provides a container for that devotion. sagittarius is where we find meaning for our lives, where we find a belief system to guide us, give our lives shape & focus, to support us as we walk our walk. we may find it in religion or philosophy or politics. we may find it in art or academia. what do you believe & how does that belief give your life shape? does that shape bring you satisfaction, even joy?

“mula” means root & is ruled by niritti, the dark goddess. niritti was married to adharma. “a” + “dharma” = not dharma, that which is against the natural order of things. “rta” can be translated as the natural order of things & “nir” is like “a” — it means against, not, the opposite. so we get the download twice about the shakti of this nakshatra: it’s time to yank out everything by its roots that doesn’t serve our right relationship with life, with the universe. anything that doesn’t serve our highest purpose, our highest expression of our unique & magnificent selves.

so take a few minutes (!) to ponder that before you start making your green bean casserole or pumpkin pie or setting the table or travel over hill & dale, before you sit down with your friends & family (if you are doing so) & give thanks for all you have.

it’s the third lunar day, which supports us in thinking outside the box, being open to change, to possibilities we hadn’t embraced, to unattaching from our notions of how we think things are, how we believe they ought to be.

thursday is jupiter’s day & since jupiter rules sagittarius that makes it a double-good day to feel into your higher purpose & to the teachings, the beliefs, that provide that purpose. jupiter & venus are conjunct right now & if you live in a place where the evening sky is clear, where it’s not snowing or raining & city lights aren’t blinding, you can see them after sunset. (note: the big bright object on the left in the photo is the moon, tho not tonight’s moon, which is still slivery.)
