it’s tuesday, november 30, & moon is in virgo, in the starspace called chitra. in the environment of mercury-ruled virgo, we are inclined to focus on the details of both our internal & external life. the tamasic nature of virgo can, however, make us preoccupied with every little thing that’s wrong, kind of obsessive-compulsive perfectionistas. but perfection is an illusion. lest we make ourselves totally crazy, at some point we get to say, “good enough!” at some point we get to accept that the only thing we can control is our thoughts & our own behavior, not the world around us.
chitra is ruled by tvashtar, the celestial architect, who embodies the abstract power to create. this asterism brings the lesson that each of us is the repository of creative potential—to create ourselves, for sure, but also to manifest things of beauty in the world.

by “the world,” i’ve always thought kunitz meant god, & that has always been my goal—to express my god-nature, my divinity, inside & out, b/c why else are we here?
it’s the eleventh lunar day, the eleventh phase of the waning moon, which is said to be the favorite tithi (moon phase) of lord krishna. therefore, those who worship him & want to get closer to him, fast, completely or partly, on this day. even if you aren’t enamored of krishna, it’s not a bad idea to slow your food roll occasionally, eat a little lighter. it’s a good day for spiritual practices of any kind, especially if you’ve fallen off that wagon.
tuesday is ruled by mars, our warrior spirit. as chogyam trungpa has said: “warriorship is a continual journey. to be a warrior is to learn to be genuine in every moment of your life.”
warriorship, like everything else worthwhile, is a practice. for example, we say “yoga practice,” not “yoga perfect.” we do our practices as a means to reveal our true nature, our genuine essence, our divinity, to ourselves & to others, continually getting closer to the truth of who we are. how are your practices going? can you see the light at the end of the tunnel? is your light shining brighter? is more of you visible?
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
