it’s thursday, november 3, & moon is in aquarius, in the starspace called shatabhishak. in the environment of aquarius, the sign of humanity & humanitarianism, we get to practice, as gandhi taught, being the change we want to see in the world. as each of us vibrates at a higher frequency, so does the world. yes, we get to contribute in more tangible ways, & the world def needs that, but our own transformation does serve the greater good as well.
shatabhishak can mean either one hundred (shata) demons (bhishak) or one hundred (shat) healers/doctors (abhishak) & is ruled by varuna, an ancient vedic god who is said to have the superpower to heal using herbs & medicine. one wonders what medicine was available in vedic times that wasn’t herbal. in any event, this asterism brings a lesson about becoming the masters of our own destiny, inviting us to ask how many methodologies/protocols we are willing to explore in order to cure what ails us. sometimes a poison (bhishak) becomes the magical elixir (abhishak)—not all herbs, for example, are benign & neither are all allopathic drugs. of course it all starts with our mind, with being able to think outside the box, see the darkness in the light, the blessing in the disease, the possibilities that may not be obvious.
it’s the tenth lunar day, the tenth phase (tithi) of the waxing moon, which is considered purna (full), as in gloriously full like the moon, so it supports completing what we’ve started &, b/c it is associated with dharma, virtuous actions—those that bring us into higher alignment with our soul purpose, into greater integrity with who we be. which can certainly mean, say, how we choose to heal ourselves, whether chemically or naturally.
thursday is owned by jupiter, who brings us teachers, who bring us wisdom. teachers come in all forms—from people to animals to events to personal trials & tribulations. “the world is filled with teachers,” says gurudev. “every little creature can teach us something. we only have to be good students.” we get to remember that as students in earth school, we are here to evolve, & the only way to do that is to keep learning, be open to receiving the lessons that everything & everyone are constantly blessing us with.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
