it’s friday, november 4, & moon moved from aquarius into pisces just before dawn mountain time while being supported & transported by the starspace called purvabhadra. whereas aquarius vibrates with the frequency of taking responsibility for being a citizen of, say, the united states or planet earth, pisces vibrates with the frequency of being a citizen of the whole freaking cosmos. it’s one thing to grok being one of 330+ million or almost 8 billion, another being one among the mysterious infinitude. the transition from aquarius to pisces is one from taking personal responsibility to surrendering, trusting/knowing that there are bigger forces at play. which, btw, doesn’t mean we give it up, don’t recycle, contribute to causes, volunteer, etc. it’s a “both and.”
speaking of the mysterious infinitude, purvabhadra is that lightning strike of “aha” & brings a lesson, ultimately, as rumi describes it, that “you are not a drop in the ocean; you are the entire ocean in a drop.” or, dare i say, meaning no offense to rumi, no suggestion that i have greater insight than he does, that we are both a drop in the cosmic ocean & the ocean in a drop, that it’s a “both and”? can we embrace duality & nonduality? in any event, if you are gifted with a brilliant insight today, don’t pooh-pooh it—show it some respect, engage with it.
it’s the twelfth lunar day, the twelfth phase (tithi) of the waxing moon, which is considered bhadra (auspicious), & is ruled by the sun, who shines his light on our path & gives us clarity of vision. do you have a vision? a plan? “if you don’t have a plan, you become a part of someone else’s plan,” said terence mckenna. sun is our sovereign nature. it’s a good day to make sure you know where you’re going & own it.
friday is owned by venus, planet of love & relationships. love is the shakti of the universe, the force of all creation. it is our greatest power. as my teacher sharon gannon says, “with great love all is possible.” as a friend recently posted, “love is not a relationship with just one person. it is a way of life with all living beings.” to clarify: with animal beings, plant beings, mineral beings—yes, with all of creation.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
