it’s tuesday, november 5, & moon is in the starspace called dhanishtha, half of which is in capricorn & half in aquarius. the energy of this nakshatra transforms capricornian commitment & determination from its more personal & immediate focus into selfless service for the world at large, or at least larger than oneself; in fact, the “self” in capricorn becomes the “selfless” in aquarius. moon moved into the aquarius portion of this asterism early this morning, so maybe you woke up thinking, “enough about me, what about you?” or “how can i serve something larger than myself today?”
dhanishtha is connected to wealth, to what makes us feel wealthy, which is, if you are reading this, probably not money per se, although there is nothing wrong with money! wealth is a state of mind. what makes you feel wealthy?
there’s a story about a poor man who was gifted a gold nugget that he could sell to become rich. he was, understandably, thrilled by this stroke of luck, & took the nugget home, upon which he became so rich that he didn’t sell his nugget after all. many, many years later he gifted another poor man with that very same nugget, telling him, too, to sell it so he would have enough money for the rest of his life. well, that poor man went to sell it & discovered that the gold nugget was only brass!
moral of the story: we all hold this nugget of gold in our consciousness, this feeling that we are rich, & when we realize it, & feel rich, riches come to us—whether riches of health, wealth, love, or perfect self-expression.
it’s the ninth lunar day, which brings serpent energy. serpents bite & contain venom, but that venom can also be transmuted into healing potions—the day could be ripe for some shadow work! or for zapping your resentment with love!
tuesday is ruled by mars, who likes to act courageously & decisively, but his placement in the sky right now is making him feel a little less certain, a little less decisive, so maybe you are waffling before you act, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing b/c sometimes mars can act without thinking & we have to suffer the consequences. still, if you’re feeling a little frustrated by your inability to decide what to do, you can blame mars. this too will pass!
