it’s monday, november 7, & moon is in aries, moving from the starspace called ashwini into bharani about midday. aries vibrates with the frequency of new beginnings, of starting over, of seeing our today as a blank canvas onto which we can paint whatever we want with whatever colors in whatever medium we want. will you choose watercolors? oils? acrylics? crayons? pastel chalks? up. to. you! aries wants you to be unabashedly who you are.
ashwini is ruled by the ashwini kumara, twin horse gods, & brings a lesson about the need to harness our energy, like a team of horses, as we charge ahead lest we be pulled hither & yon. bharani, which is where the full moon & lunar eclipse occurs overnight (it starts about 1 a.m. mountain time, reaches totality about 3:15 a.m., & ends about 7 a.m.), is ruled by yama, the god of death & restraint, & brings a lesson about the consequences of our actions, of taking responsibility for them. this can feel like restraint, constriction, b/c owning up to our mistakes is never fun, or like death, b/c maybe something or someone has to go.
this full moon & lunar eclipse are the counterpart to the new moon & solar eclipse of two weeks ago & happens in the same aries-libra axis. this axis is about creating balance between our autonomy (aries) & the agreements we make with others (libra) in order to be in relationship—whatever kinds of agreements for whatever kinds of relationships. libra is transactional, & its ruler, venus, is our desire nature, so we get to ask whether we have been negotiating away too much of who we are in order to fulfill our desires, whether the cost is worth the benefit.
eclipses can reveal secrets, bring what’s hidden out of the shadows, including/especially our own unconscious patterns, & can also disrupt our mental/emotional body, so it’s not advisable to make sudden decisions but to sit with what arises for at least a couple of days, let it marinate, let yourself reground. it’s also not advisable to actually look at the eclipse, but if you are awake during it, it is a great good time to meditate & chant mantras: chanting mantra is said to be 1,000 times more powerful during an eclipse, & who am i to argue?!
more on the full moon/eclipse tomorrow!
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
