it’s tuesday, november 8, & moon is in aries, in the starspace called bharani, which is where we had the full moon & lunar eclipse earlier this morning. anyone else wake at 1 am MST when the event started rolling? anyone else decide to chant mantra then & around 3 am when they woke again & the eclipse was full-on b/c doing so during an eclipse is said to be 1,000 times more magical? anyone else do so from the horizontal snug ‘n’ warm of their bed cause they were too cozy to sit up? results may vary!
the full moon sets the tone to complete the cycle initiated by the new moon in libra—& the eclipses happening in those signs (solar in libra, lunar in aries) intensify that moon work, bringing more reveals. the aries-libra axis highlights the imbalance created when we compromise (libra) too much, give up our power (aries), are too accommodating in order to maintain harmony in our relationships—whether business, platonic, familial, or romantic. we learn to know ourselves through others & thus what’s negotiable & what’s not—where compromise costs us too much of our own authority.
aries is all about our personal authority. authority comes from the latin auctor, “author.” who is the author of you if not you? to whom are you giving authority over you? our moon work for the waning cycle is to take back our authority so we can show up more authentically with others, to let go of giving it up to others—without giving up others.
bharani is symbolized by the yoni, the female reproductive organ, from which life springs, & comes from the sanskrit verb that means to bear, as in bearing the responsibility of what we give birth to, what we create. as it is election day in the united states, we can see the results of what we as a collective have created politically & take responsibility—somehow, some way—for moving the needle in what we consider the correct direction. that may be through voting or legal action or protesting or facilitating change on a grassroots level.
tuesday is ruled by mars, who also rules aries. he reminds us that we can only truly be in relationship when we stand in our own power. yeah, we can’t hear that enough!
