it’s tuesday, october 11, & moon is in aries, in the starspace called bharani. aries, which is ruled by mars, vibrates with the frequency of the power of our will, our innate creative urge toward self-expression. mars fires us up & gives us the courage to boldly go where we’ve never gone before, to take courageous action to bring us into higher alignment with the truth of who we be & let the world experience that truth. why? b/c we can! as chris wallis writes (yes, i’ve totally been binging on his tantra illuminated lately—you’re welcome!), “the will seeks self-expression for no reason other than the joy inherent in the act of self-expression.” not to mention that “when you are pursuing an activity as a form of self-expression, it replenishes you instead of draining you.” so do the joy of you, b/c there’s only one of you!
bharani is ruled by lord yama, the god of death, & reminds us that all of our actions have consequences, death being the ultimate consequence of being born, right? speaking of being born, the symbol of this asterism is the yoni, the female reproductive organ, which brings life into the world as the happy consequence of much pain. of course, very few people, if any, would regret that pain, & in fact they usually forget all about it soon enough. so we get to ask ourselves whether what we are manifesting is worth the effort. if not—unlike with babies, which we can’t return—we can adjust, shift direction, make amends if need be.
it’s the second lunar day, the second phase of the waning moon, which is considered bhadra, or auspicious, & is related to lord krishna. so it’s a day that brings blessings in terms of producing delightful results or results that bring delight. either way works!
tuesday, like aries, is ruled by fiery mars, who is our impulse toward anger when we’re not paying attention, our impulse to lash out, to react rather than pause, which can be manifested physically or verbally. “speak when you are angry, & you will make the best speech you will ever regret,” said ambrose bierce. tuesdays are especially good days, if we get fired up, to let our jets cool before we create unfortunate consequences.
