it’s tuesday, october 12, & moon is in sagittarius, in the starspace called purvashadha. in the environment of sattvic sagittarius, we are motivated to be our best selves, we are inspired to live a righteous life, to seek truth & embody it. we just get to remember that there’s a difference between truth with a capital T & truth with a lowercase t.
purvashadha is ruled by apas, the water deity, & brings the lesson that if we plant seeds (we just pulled up weeds & made room to plant seeds yesterday in mula) & water them, nurture them, with love & devotion, eventually but inevitably they will sprout & grow, the acorn will become a ginormous oak.
“be realistic. plan for a miracle.” — osho
most acorns do not become oaks, but when they do, is it not miraculous? what seeds in your life want nurturing? what miracle can you plan for?
it’s the seventh lunar day, the seventh phase of the waxing moon, which is ruled by indra, who was the god of the gods & performed great deeds, took care of his dominion, but also had a big, fat ego, which got him in trouble. it’s a good day to strut yourself, know you are all that, b/c you are, b/c we all are, but to do so with humility. if that sounds like an oxymoron or a zen koan, good!
tuesday is infused with the special sauce of mars, who, when vibrating at his highest frequency, gives us courage. at his lowest frequency he gives us anger. anger is a response to fear—the fear of something being taken away from us, for example. when we’re afraid, we feel threatened, unsafe, vulnerable. anger can be energizing & empowering—it can, say, motivate us to run away from the hungry tiger salivating over the possibility of having us for dinner. but most of us don’t come face to face with tigers. most of our fears come from our minds & aren’t real & so reacting with anger can be not only inappropriate but counterproductive. the next time you experience fear, instead of asking yourself what fear would do, & maybe blowing up a situation that doesn’t need to be blown up, how about asking, “what would love do?”
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
