it’s wednesday, october 12, & moon moves from aries into taurus midday mountain time while being supported & transported by the starspace called krittika. while aries vibrates with the frequency of stepping out bigly into the world, taurus vibrates with the frequency of cozying up at home away from the world. under the sway of aries, we are fearless, take chances, do do do; under the sway of taurus, we want to feel safe & secure, hunker down & just be. notice whether your inclination shifts away from the active toward the passive midday, from wanting to get ‘er done to wanting to hang on the sofa with tea & a good book.

krittika comes from the verb krt (कृत्) = “to cut, divide, destroy” & is ruled by agni, the primordial god of fire. putting it all together, this asterism brings a lesson about cutting away what doesn’t serve us with laserlike precision, just as a surgeon uses the perfect scalpel to excise a tumor from someone’s body. what is malignant in you? what is diverting your energy, feeding on, rather than nourishing, you? agni also gives us laserlike clarity of vision to see what needs to go.

it’s the third lunar day, the third phase of the waning moon, which is considered bala (strong) &/or jaya (victorious). this tithi (lunar phase) supports us in being flexible, in pursuing options or solutions that we hadn’t considered before, either out of necessity, b/c what we were trying/doing wasn’t working for us, or b/c we just feel like trying something new. if we are strong enough to accept the challenge, we will be victorious—nothing ventured, nothing gained, as they say.

wednesday is owned by mercury, who gives us discriminating intelligence, the power to discern what’s true & what’s not. “beware of false knowledge,” said george bernard shaw. “it is more dangerous than ignorance.” mercury is in virgo, where he is super intelligent, & is opposite jupiter in pisces, where jupiter rocks intelligence regarding what inspires us, so we have a great good opportunity to use our mercurial powers to discern whether what inspires us is taking us where we want to go, to get clarity on whether it is leading us to greater alignment with truth or not.

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
