it’s monday, october 12, & moon is moving from cancer into leo midday & from the starspace called ashlesha into magha at the same time. so there’s a shift midday between the gentle, feminine energy of cancer & the fiery masculine energy of leo. & note that this is a gandanta point, which means that there is no nakshatra bridging the gap between these two energies, easing our passage from one to the other. ashlesha ends where cancer does & magha begins at the same longitude that leo does. it’s a leap without a net. so mind the gap. mind your mind. take extra care. breathe.
ashlesha (see yesterday’s post for more) is ruled by serpent energy. serpents entwine, embrace. if we embrace, cling to, negative emotions & stories, those without basis in truth, it can take us down. but if we cling to truth, to god, to what uplifts, that’s pretty positive clinging. magha is ruled by ancestral energy, what is passed down to us. the best way to honor the gifts our ancestors have bestowed on us is to feed them, make offerings to them. they want us to be happy, they want us to thrive. our joy & our abundance are the most awesome offerings we can give them.
it’s the eleventh phase of the waning moon, when we’ll want to invoke our inner shiva, feel like shiva, the ur meditator. spiritual austerities of all kinds are supported today, like fasting & meditation, &, hey, if you want to sit on a mountaintop like shiva, go for it.
the moon rules monday, which means it’s a good day to connect to our heart, to those we love, to our heart’s wisdom, aka our intuition. if you were born after sunrise on a monday, moon brings a special flavor of karma for you to work with in this lifetime. moon also represents mother. how’s your relationship with your mother? are you able to tap into the purest expression of love & give it freely? discuss with yourself. meditate on it.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. the moon is our consciousness & i hope that by unpacking the cosmic forces influencing it every day, you’ll be better able to understand & thus lean into its ever-changing vibrations & use them to your advantage.
