daily blissit’s monday, october 14, & moon is in the starspace called ashwini, which is the first nakshatra, or starry portion, of aries, the first sign of the zodiac, which means moon is starting another journey around the zodiac. aries is ruled by mars, who represents our passion & courage. aries is a masculine sign, & masculine energy is about doing, about putting it out in the world, making an impact. so we will be feeling the urge to hit the ground running, exert our personal power, let the world feel it.

ashwini is ruled by the ashwini kumara, the twin sons of the sun who are the twin gods of vedic medicine, or ayurveda. an “ashwin” is a cavalier, or horse tamer, this asterism is symbolized by the horse & the ashwini kumara are said to drive a golden chariot across the sky to usher in the dawn, presumably pulled by horses. i mean, what’s more healing than the sun? no sun, no life! but that’s just how they started their day—their chariot was filled with healing treasures for one & all.

so this asterism heralds a new dawn, new beginnings. dawn isn’t quite day isn’t quite night, but a segue between the two. dawn carries the best of the night into the day, carries the truths we uncover when, say, we surrender to the deep metaphysical energy of pisces, where moon has been all weekend & where it was full yesterday, into the material world.

do you feel the leap from the emotional, flowy, perhaps wishy-washy energy of pisces into the “i know what to do & i’m going to do it” energy of aries? i do, & i am sooooo grateful! over the weekend i could see the big picture but wasn’t sure what my next steps were—there were too many possibilities & i was too emotional to discriminate—but this morning i woke up knowing exactly what to do, what was essential & what wasn’t. phew!

it’s the first phase of the waning moon, which is related to creativity & new beginnings, which dovetails nicely with aries energy. it’s a great day to begin, or begin again.

monday is ruled by the moon, which is our feeling nature, so don’t be surprised if you’re feeling hungover from yesterday’s juicy full moon in pisces.
