it’s thursday, october 15, & moon is in virgo, in the starspace called hasta. virgo is the virgin, which evokes all that is pure & unsullied. virgo invites us to purify & organize our lives, internally & externally. of course the one reflects the other: how does your external life reflect your internal life, or vice versa? where can you tidy up? how can you create more spaciousness, a safer, more supportive container for your life?
hasta means “hand” & is ruled by savitur, surya, the sun, at his most creative. the shakti of this asterism gives us the ability to manifest our desires, to put them in our figurative hands or to use our hands literally to manifest them. it’s a good day for using our hands for detailed work, like massage or journaling (cross all those t’s & dot all those i’s), or, hey, having a henna party.
it’s the fourteenth phase of the waning moon, which is associated with an especially fierce aspect of shiva—either kali, the feminine, or rudra, the male. as we are feeling as depleted as the moon, we may need to harness our fierceness to let go of just a little bit more, so that we can feel into out utter emptiness tomorrow, on the new moon. let everything that needs to go go, so that everything that needs to come can come.
thursday is ruled by jupiter, who is our source of inspiration, who allows us to see the big picture & step into our highest purpose. if you were born on a thursday after sunrise, jupiter infuses the karma you are here to work out in this lifetime. it’s good to ponder how that energy is playing out in your life, whether you are using it wisely. you may be a teacher or may gravitate to spiritual teachings/teachers. you may be filled with hope & optimism, always seeing the best, the brightest outcome, the one who looks at the world through rose-colored glasses. hey, we need that balance, now more than ever!
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. it is my hope that the daily bliss can help you align with the day’s cosmic energy & find a little more bliss; that it inspires you to enlighten up a little more each day.
