it’s tuesday, october 18, & moon is in cancer, in the starspace called pushya. in the environment of the moon-ruled water sign of cancer, we tap into the energy of the divine feminine, the unconditional love of the mother, which gushes & flows & overflows, appears to be unbounded like water in an infinity pool. moon is our desire for happiness & connection, which we want to nurture & protect, like a mother does a baby, & thus brings vulnerability, b/c there is no guarantee that our efforts will be rewarded, at all, or in the way we might hope for.
pushya brings a lesson about what we nourish & how we nourish it, & let’s not forget that if we don’t nourish ourselves, if we don’t keep ourselves topped up, we won’t be able to nourish others, won’t have anything to give, or we will feed them the equivalent of unorganic, gmo’d fast food, rather than bursting-with-nutrients-&-vitality goodness. that watery nature of cancer benefits from some earthy grounding, so let’s do ground ourselves, which may mean literally walking barefoot in the earth.
it’s the ninth lunar day, the ninth phase of the waning moon, which is called rikta (fierce). the ninth tithi (lunar phase) is considered inauspicious for anything other than vanquishing enemies (which see mars, below), dealing with poisons, spiritual transformation—i.e., slaying the poison in our mind & thus transforming it into wisdom. best way to slay those internal enemies is to stare them down, confront them—they can’t stand being looked in the eye & called out! of course, if anyone is your life is actually giving you a hard time, do deal with them today!
tuesday is ruled by mars, who gives us courage, the courage of the warrior. courage doesn’t mean not being afraid; it means persevering, doing what needs to be done, regardless. do you think a warrior going into battle isn’t scared? i mean, the danger is real—they’d be delusional to think otherwise. no, a warrior storms into battle despite the danger, b/c someone’s got to fight the good fight. & to be clear: when we’re talking about mars, we’re talking about his highest expression, as a spiritual warrior, about duking it out with the demons that prevent us from fulfilling our highest purpose, not whacking off heads like a viking with a sword.
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
