it’s monday, october 18, & moon is in pisces, in the starspace called uttarabhadra. pisces, which is ruled by jupiter, vibrates with the desire for ultimate liberation, to merge into all that is, into the cosmic ocean, the ocean of love, which is all there is. as lucinda williams sings in “ventura”:
i wanna watch the ocean bend
the edges of the sun
then i wanna get swallowed up
in an ocean of love
what could be more delicious than that? & with jupiter going direct today, reigniting our hopefulness, recommitting us to the wisdom of love, we just may start feeling inspired to at least stick our toes in, maybe wade in up to our knees, or, who knows, do the big plunge!
uttarabhadra is ruled by the deity ahirbudhnya, a deep-sea serpent embodying the transformative energy of shiva. the sea is, of course, the sea of consciousness, & this asterism brings the lesson that in order to evolve, in order to heal our psychological or emotional traumas, we have to be willing to plumb the depths of our psyche, be willing to ask our shadow what it has to teach us. in this way, just as shiva drank the halahala, the poison that rose to the surface during the churning of the cosmic ocean, so the amrita could be enjoyed by others, so we can remove the toxins from our own minds & enjoy the sweetness, the wisdom there.
it’s the fourteenth lunar day, the fourteenth phase of the waxing moon, the penultimate phase before the full moon. with the sun in libra, sign of relationships, & the moon going to be full in aries, sign of individuality, we are probably feeling full to bursting with figuring out how to still be “me” in a “we.”
monday is ruled by the moon, which, like pisces, is connected to the sea of love, but while piscean love is related to the divine matrix of love that is the interconnectedness of our existence, lunar love is related to the love we feel for one another. although, hmmm, that flows from the divine as well, is part of the same matrix. we can’t know divine love without knowing human love & vice versa. so be love today. period. end of story.
