it’s wednesday, october 20, & moon is full in aries, in the starspace called ashwini. mars-ruled aries vibrates with the frequency of “me, me, me, me, me,” of our own unique identity, making sure the world knows we are here. &, b/c it is the first sign of the natural zodiac, it also vibrates with beginningness, our ability to start anew, to see new possibilities, to recreate ourselves.
ashwini, as the first nakshatra of the natural zodiac, is likewise related to beginningness. its symbol is a pair of horses, which represent our prana. ashwini brings the lesson that in order to be an absolute beginner, we need to rein in our prana, direct it, so that we can be all-in when it comes to possibility, which also means, as david bowie sang, to have “nothing much at stake,” to be unattached to the outcome/the fruits of our actions. can you direct all of your life force to being in the mystery & letting it unfold?
the moon is full b/c it is directly opposite the sun, which is today shining its light on the moon from libra. while aries is about “me,” libra is about “we”; while aries invites us to be in our own power, libra invites us to give up a little power, to compromise, for the sake of relationships. interestingly, moon, which is our feeling nature, is prone to compromise; sun, which is our sense of personal identity, not so much! but sun is debilitated in libra & may be more willing to compromise, which can be seen positively or negatively. it depends on whether we feel we are giving up our power involuntarily or not, whether we feel our power is being taken away from us b/c we are too weak to be a stand for ourselves, or whether we are graciously offering up our power—being humble—b/c we are standing so strongly in ourselves.
this full moon invites us to reflect, like the moon does the sun’s light, on our relationships—any & all of them—& how “me” shows up in the “we.”
