it’s sunday, october 20, & moon is in the starspace called punarvasu, which is mostly in gemini but extends a few degrees into cancer, creating a bridge of consciousness between those two energies. transmuting the one seamlessly into the other—no jumping over cosmic bridges without a cosmic net. moon doesn’t actually move into the cancer portion until midnight mountain time, so, if like me, you’re an early-to-bedder-early-to-riser, that shift will happen while you’re sleeping: you might go off to slumber feeling all mentally stimulated & curious (gemini) & wake up feeling all but-what-does-my-heart-want-me-to-do (cancer)?
the nakshatra punarvasu is ruled by aditi, who is nothing less than the infinitude of shakti, the creative force of the universe, the feminine principle, the formless & absolute Mother, the one whose well of abundance has no bottom, who showers us & all with unconditional, unbounded love. she is often represented as headless—b/c who needs a head when you’ve got a heart so big that it encompasses the entire universe? who needs a head that may stop you in your creatively flowing tracks, make you second-guess your instinct to give, to love, to nourish, to express? & she’s headless to remind us that the manifestation of her life-giving & life-informing energy & life-affirming is not individuated, does not need a face or name to contain it, cannot be contained, that it is as pervasive as consciousness itself.
it’s the seventh lunar day, so a good day to feel like a king, or queen, or, hey, whatever icon you associate with noble authority—just remember that we maintain authority (ie, good modeling behavior) in relation to our humility, in relation to our soul’s alignment.
sunday is, appropriately, ruled by the sun (why do you think it’s called sunday?), so another reminder to strut your stuff, lord it over your domain, feel your sense of power as you walk through your king- or queen- or whatever-dom. sun is, however, hanging out in libra, where it’s debilitated, which means you may not be feeling so lordly & may try to overcompensate with ego. caveat emperor!
