it’s wednesday, october 21, & moon is in sagittarius, in the starspace called mula until just after noon, when it moves into purvashadha. under the sway of sagittarius, we see the bigger picture, connect to our highest sense of purpose, to how living our purpose, if we do so fully, will serve not just us but the world. we begin to see that there is no difference between “we” & “thee,” between “me” & “god.”
mula invites us to yank out what doesn’t serve us so we can plant the seeds of what will. purvashadha invites us to water, to nourish those seeds. those roots & seeds often come in the form of thoughts, of words (see below!).
it’s the sixth phase of the waxing moon, which is related to shiva’s son kartikeya, who became an army general at a very young age. he won battles b/c of, not despite, his innocence, b/c he approached challenges with a beginner’s mind, you might say.
wednesday is ruled by mercury, who gives us, among other things, our power of speech, our ability to use our words to express ourselves & to share ideas. matrika shakti is the magical attracting power of language. matrikas are the deep roots of each vibration of sound from which letters, words & language are manifested; they are infinitesimal, but infinitely potent, mothers of creation, microcosmic goddesses.
“watch your thoughts, they become words. watch your words, they become actions. watch your actions, they become habits. watch your habits, they become character. watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.”
don’t just watch your words, use them wisely. use them to call in, to create, the world you want to live in, to manifest what you desire. in sanskrit when we say the name of, say, the goddess, we are calling her in, there is no difference between name & form: her name is her, her energy, & so by saying her name we have access to her energy. matrika is the subtle force that can cause a spark, that can alter life. what do you want to call in? can you own it by saying it, giving voice to it, naming it?
& that’s your daily bliss! which is a kind of lunar weather report. it is my hope that the daily bliss can help you align with the day’s cosmic energy & find a little more bliss; that it inspires you to enlighten up a little more each day.
