it’s thursday, october 22, & moon is in sagittarius, in the starspace called purvashadha until about noon, when it moves into uttarashadha. so we get another day of hewing to our highest purpose, to feeling into our greatest potential, maxing out our vision of how we want to show up, how we can show up most effectively in the world.
the seeds that we planted in mula are nourished in purvashadha and then rise victoriously in uttarashadha. what do you want to grow, manifest? what is germinating within you that is seeking the light of day? how does your life force want to express itself? what is preventing you from allowing it to live & breathe—fear? doubt? self-judgment?

it’s the seventh phase of the waxing moon, which is connected to the saptarishis, the seven great vedic sages. the seven stars of the big dipper were said to be these rishis. from the big dipper, we can find the north star, & you could say that by bestowing their wisdom on us the sages help us find our true north as well.
jupiter rules thursday. jupiter is the guru, the one who brings us to god, to knowing that we & god are one. guru often gets a bad rap in the west, partly b/c we are in too much of a hurry. traditionally, a disciple had to spend, like, ten years with a prospective guru, observing & vetting, before the guru accepted them. this insured integrity in both & in the relationship. who does that anymore?
