daily blissit’s tuesday, october 22, & moon is in the starspace called ashlesha, which is the last nakshatra of cancer. so another day of experiencing the depths (or, um, not) of our feeling nature, for better or worse. to make the best of this emotional energy, you’ll want to surround yourself with those you feel emotionally safe with, those you resonate with in a heartful way, who inspire love, not those who trigger, say, jealousy or anger.

ashlesha is ruled by the sarpas, which are snakes or small serpents, & tend to use their powers negatively, while nagas, also snakes or serpents, tend to use their powers positively. ashlesha entwines, like snakes, but what we entwine ourselves with (jealousy or love, fear or paranoia, dharma or adharma) is up to us & how we use that entwinement (to free or further enslave ourselves, as medicine or as poison) is also up to us. which is to say that sometimes sarpas act like nagas, sometimes nagas act like sarpas, or can be turned one into the other through our own powers of awareness. let the entwinee beware!

in buddhism, nagas are considered protectors b/c when the buddha was meditating ad infinitum & it started to rain, a naga opened up his seven-headed hood like an umbrella to prevent him from being disturbed—but, really, the buddha? disturbed? still, a lovely gesture. & a reminder that snakes are the repository of wisdom, are the protectors of dharma, even the “bad” ones, like sarpas, b/c some of us have to take the left-handed road to end up on the right track, right? kind of like the world right now, alas.

it’s the ninth lunar day, which—omg, i can’t believe it, but it’s true—is related to, drum roll, please, sarpa energy!!! it’s crazy when there is so much synchronicity between elements of the panchanga—the five attributes of the day, which include nakshatra & lunar day & everything else i talk about in the daily bliss. soooooo, watch out for toxic energy today! if you encounter any, see if you can turn it into amrita, into healing nectar.

tuesday is ruled by mars, so, yeah, definitely make sure not to act without thinking, especially with all that sarpa energy in the air.
