it’s wednesday, october 26, & moon is in libra, in the starspace called vishakha. under the sway of libra, we are preoccupied with our relationships, with our interactions with people, strangers included. all relationships are a dance of mirroring. we get to see ourselves anew in each interaction. sometimes we like what we see, sometimes not. sometimes we see a quality in another that we want for ourself. libra is totally transactional—equally giving & taking is how libra rolls—& sometimes we choose people b/c we desperately want what they have. it’s awesome to be aspirational, to want to be better, but no one can give us what we need to give ourself, no one can make us whole. & if it is true that when we see a quality in another that we don’t like it means we must have that quality in ourself, it must also be true that if we see a quality in another that we like we must have it in ourself or we wouldn’t be able to see it. sharing, not needing, is the higher vibration of libra.

vishakha brings a lesson about a different kind of wholeness, about not having to choose between living a spiritual life or a material life but being able to have it all, being able embrace the complexity of the dance between the two. just as we can’t tango without a partner, we can’t meditate if we’re worrying about paying our rent.

it’s the second lunar day, the second phase of the waxing moon, & is identified as bhadra (blessed or auspicious). this tithi (lunar phase) is considered good for acts of creation that sustain life, bring more value to it, which could mean anything from putting a new roof on your house to putting up a huge pot of soup & freezing quarts for those days when you want something yummy & nourishing & don’t feel like making any effort.

wednesday is owned by mercury, who loves words, loves to communicate. with mars now in mercury’s sign of gemini, where we love to share ideas, & mercury in libra, sign of relationships, it’s up to us to use the firepower of mars to uplevel our words to communicate more effectively with others, not use them as weapons against others. as rumi said, “raise your words not your voice. it is rain that grows flowers, not thunder.”

& that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss. may it inspire you to enlighten up a little more each day.
